If you know me well you know that I love fungi of all types; mushrooms in particular. In Australia, at different times in different states, the Queen’s birthday warrants a public holiday. In Victoria it is celebrated on the second Monday of June. This year I used my holiday to finally visit Marysville and, among other things, explored a bit of Steavenson Falls. Signs near the waterfall’s pool indicated that exceedingly fortunate visitors might catch a glimpse of a platypus. (I had a brief moment of freak out over that. No luck for me, though.)
On the short path back to the parking lot, cut right against a hill covered in brambles, I glanced to the left and spotted something amazing.
Because all mushrooms are amazing.
