Today is the First Day of Spring! If you’re fortunate enough to live in an area with a Rita’s Italian Ice, then you know what that means…
FREE ITALIAN ICES!
It’s always a good time to be alive.
I used part of my voucher to purchase a ticket to Indianapolis for my summer training. I’m so excited! I officially move to Indiana on Sunday, June 10, and begin my HOPE61 training on June 11. Joyce was kind enough to let me start then instead of a week before, when the interns do. This way I can attend my littlest sister’s high school graduation. Given the many events and milestones that missionary life is going to require me to miss, I’m grateful to be there for my sister when she gets her diploma!
As I said in my last post, Orientation was busy and exciting. Even as I was training and learning, though, it gave me the rest and energy that I needed to return home and continue raising support. Here’s a glimpse into the week…check out my Facebook pictures for more.
The key thing I was reminded of is the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life, and how His hand on mine makes all the difference. We spent a large portion of our time in prayer. I’m not weak. I’m victorious already, because of Him! The other thing I thought of constantly was all of you – you who encourage me and support me. I can’t tell you how much it’s meant when someone says, “I’ve been reading your blog.” or “On your blog the other day…”
And those who pray for me? Prayer support is more necessary than financial support. Yes, financial support is needed for me to carry out this ministry. I am more grateful than I can say when I receive funds; thank you for returning your money to God & allowing Him to provide for me! But prayer is a two-edged sword. It is the thing that connects our gifts with our hearts and our Lord and the ones we’re looking to bless.
I guess what I’m trying to say is – even if God has not asked you to directly support me through what you physically give to Him, your prayer and encouragement are not dismissed by me. I treasure them. I thank God for you and ask Him to bless you. Prayer is our direct line to our Holy Father God. When you entreat Him for me or HOPE61 (or anyone or thing), it matters. I believe that. And I’ve seen the hand of God work among the prayers of the faithful.
Each and every way you’ve been a part of my life has meant something to me. There is nothing too small. Thank you!
