A May Flower of a Day

Today was a May-flower. Late this morning it seemed like thunderstorms, but instead we got the classic puffy white clouds against dark blue skies. Oh yeah…and NO snow! After months of heavy snows, this is still a fabulous fact to note.

Literature of the Holocaust requires a lot of reading (supposed to be around 6 to 8 hours a day) but I’m enjoying it. Tennis & Badminton…wellll if I were more coordinated, they’d probably be fun…unfortunately they just remind me that P.E. actually stands for “Physical Embarrassment.” At least it’s giving me 2 hours daily of exercise. I wanted to get into shape before the Philippines, anyway! Guess this is a good start. OK, quick Mayterm update then Philippines update —

Heather’s been away the last few days, and though I miss her, the Spare Oom (my room for  the month) is a lovely place to be even when alone. When she’s here we’ve been making food (Orange chicken, true mac & cheese, cupcakes) & having conversation in the light from the window-ful porch. Brittany & I discovered that one of our friends has yet to see Harry Potter, so maybe an HP marathon is in order soon? Heather & I also enjoy SPYING from the porch…!

One of the best books ever written next to flowers from parents.

Orange chicken with Heather, on the porch.

We also enjoy spying together...hahaha

In regards to stuff with OMS & HOPE61, things are trucking along. My prayer cards were ordered on Monday & I’m really excited about having them come in! It makes it seem much more real. I’ve also been blessed to have two friends (both recent graduates) inquire about giving and/or give. While walking home today from classes, considering that I haven’t even asked for support yet, God used this to remind me of His plans. He has plans & I’m undeserving but joyful to be part of them. It’s a joyful thing to be called to love people!

There could be worse things after all — like being called to be a mathemetician. Or take more “Physical Embarrassment” classes, haha.

Anyway, I’ve also made facebook friends with Lauren, the girl I’m going overseas with. She seems awesome & I can’t wait to meet her in person come December! We’ve been talking about support raising…right now we’ve both talked to friends & are lining up things with churches (I emailed six today, so hopefully I’ll get some positive responses soon for this summer & fall)…we hope to get our prayer cards & our prayer letters approved SOON : )

But, truly, I’m grateful to those of you who have expressed support, promised prayer, and given financially. All of these things are helpful to me & I hope to be a good friend to you in return.

Adios for now!

  1. “There could be worse things after all — like being called to be a mathemetician.” I think we’re definitely twins.

Also, I knew that window was perfect for spying. Every time I walk past Heather’s I look up and expect to see her watching me.
